Well, it is Tuesday. My plan for the coming year was to post every Tuesday starting in June---but it is the second Tuesday of June already, and almost 10pm at that---and now it is Thursday already.

I haven't done a lot of sketches in the last two weeks, because I have been focusing on organizing and decluttering my home. It is not going quite as quickly as I would like....and I am finding many interruptions --some from other things being added to my schedule and others from just good old procrastination. However, I did find some time to get some sketches started over the weekend and worked on another project that I want to have done by the end of the month this evening.
Here are a few of my adventures from this month so far -
Day One -- going through books and closets to get rid of items and tidy up.

I couldn't quite bear to get rid of this Cambodian dress I had made at a Phnom Penh market for Sina's wedding. I doesn't fit anymore and I can't imagine wearing it anywhere these days anyways. Back at Chestnut Ridge I used to wear it on occasion, and Phoh from Laos would always appreciate it, but now I have little reason to wear it. Perhaps in the next year I will come up with a creative reuse for it. It is made from Cambodian silk.

Enjoying baking all my own bread --Artisan bread in 5 minutes a day recipe.
Another day, I helped my brother change the bulb in his headlight, which required taking the fender part way off -- really I just read the directions and supported the light and fender while he did the work.
Got my garden planted --had to hunt down some eggplant because they were sold out at Mt. Eaton greenhouse after I got back from my Canada trip in May. I did find a Tumbler tomato at Mt. Eaton though and had to get one because that is my Uncle George's favorite kind.

Helping out at Camp Buckeye - counting and folding t-shirts in preparation for upcoming weeks of camp.
Attended a Geological talk and even found a fossil at Troyer's Hollow. And I found a handle that fit my outdoor water spigot while I was at Keim, so I could that fixed and easier to use.
I made a Caprese Brie Skillet at a campfire with friends.
I explored some of my ancestors' artifacts while visiting the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society (now Mennonite Life) while helping dad research some genealogy things he had questions about, at the library there.

I visited 1719 Museum in Lancaster Pennsylvania while my dad was at his 60th High School Reunion. And enjoyed learning about the history of the area and those early settlers as well as the indigenous people who helped them when they first arrived. I also enjoyed seeing all the different textures on the mill stones.
Heine Weber's Smokehouse - Heine was my grandfather's great great great great great great grandfather.
I started an oil painting class at the Wayne Center for the Arts. Was wanting to do a watercolor class but had a conflict with the time.
Saw these fruit growing somewhere on my wanderings and wondered what they were, took me a few tries but I finally found someone who knew what they were.
